Ships Friend Ships has assembled a team of people just like you who work together to accomplish much more than one man can accomplish alone. We give of ourselves, the most valuable thing we have to give to God. Friend Ships has a vision. We have a plan. We have ships and supplies. And we have a job for anyone who is willing to do what is needed and work as part of a team. Volunteer for a day, a week, a month or a lifetime. In most cases, the whole family can take part and there is no charge to participate. Every year millions of people around the world are struck by devastating natural disaster or become the victims of war. Hundreds of millions of people suffer from hunger and malnutrition. Today and every day, 33,000 children under the age of five die. That’s equivalent to 2 ½ 747's full of children crashing to the ground with all lost, every single hour of every single day. The Bible tells us that when Nehemiah heard that the wall around Jerusalem was destroyed, he wept and mourned, he fasted and prayed. When he was done, he got up and did something about it. Other people must have heard about the broken condition of the wall but when Nehemiah heard about it, he was touched deeply and he acted. He assembled a team, gathered supplies, traveled to the wall and repaired it. They worked with diligence even as they were ridiculed and threatened, even when it meant working by day and standing guard by night. If your heart is broken for the 33,000 children who will die today or for the millions who are hungry or homeless, lost and without the knowledge of God, maybe the Lord is calling you to do something about it. Maybe, like Jeremiah, before God formed you in the womb, He set you apart for a purpose- this purpose. We can’t help every one of them, but we can help some of them. It’s time for all soldiers to report to their posts. Our job here at Friend Ships is much bigger than we are capable of accomplishing on our own. God must continually make the way for us and He does so in what can only be called supernatural provision. Because we are completely dependent on Him, those who work with us at Friend Ships see God’s hand and feel His love in a way they may not ever otherwise experience. "What can I say, how can I count all the many blessings and wonderful lessons and experiences in these seven years with Friend Ships? All I can say is that they have been the best years of my life. God has loved me, cared for me, blessed me, changed me, tested me, strengthened me, allowed me to grow in Him and taught me how to do all this for others in His Name. It has not always been easy, but then again God never said it will be, he just promised that He will always be there! Friend Ships is a great place to serve and I praise God for what he has done in and through a bunch of people like us, not because we are special, just because we said: "Yes, Lord. Send me."
