A YEAR OF BLESSINGS

Friend Ships

Heavy duty tarp material loaded in shipping containers to assist those in need...It has been a busy December here at Friend Ships, as church organizations and relief agencies throughout the world request help in meeting the needs of disaster victims. It is such a blessing that we are able to respond!

CUBA

This past season, two vicious storms caused thousands of people in Cuba to become homeless. In December, we had the opportunity to send two shipments of heavy-duty tarp material to churches in Havana so that they can help people with damage to their homes. A prior shipment made earlier in the year was received and put to great use!

Relief to those in need...MEXICO

Tabasco, Mexico suffered massive flooding causing the entire region to be devastated and tens of thousands of people left homeless. Friend Ships loaded a large flatbed truck with rolls of heavy-duty tarping that was then shipped to a Christian organization working there, to provide the distraught community with shelter assistance and home repairs.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

Tropical Storm Noel crossed over the Dominican Republic causing massive flash flooding and landslides. Tens of thousands of people were made homeless, many were killed, the water system was contaminated, bridges collapsed, and crops and roads were destroyed. In December, another storm caused more turmoil with landslides. Friend Ships is working together with the Dream Center in Los Angles to ship food, clothing, linens, mattresses, tarp material and hygiene supplies to the Assemblies of God organization in Santa Domingo.

Feeding programs to those after hurricane damage... Praying for the people through outreaches in Dominican Republic after flooding and landslides...

STOREHOUSE ONE

In December, StoreHouse One Los Angeles collected and distributed over 100,000 pounds of food and StoreHouse One Lake Charles dispersed 22,000 pounds to people in need!

The Village in Roatán hosted several church seminars this month including one for children, with the usual wonderful results. At one weekend’s "Encounter” for men, there was an amazing testimony.  One of the men attending was a known thief. He had stolen large amounts of money and he stole regularly.  He repented for this and felt a huge burden lift off him.  The Pastor who was leading the service, without knowing the situation, called a specific man to come and pray with the former thief. As it turned out, the man called to pray was one of the men who had had a large amount of money stolen!  It was a real God-Incidence with a really great result. We praise God for the work He is doing in lives.

PORT MERCY

The crew continued to prepare the ships for the Spring Mission and perform routine activities before taking a Christmas break. RAMP (Relief Apprenticeship Missions Program) students traveled to New Orleans to participate with a church outreach to the community in a neighborhood that was devastated by Hurricane Katrina. The team helped provide food and clothing to the community and construct a playground for neighborhood youth.

The RAMP team also traveled to Baton Rouge in order to assist the Just for Jesus ministry present a Christian concert and rally as a field trip activity for public school students. More than 5000 youth attended this exciting and successful ground breaking event.

Thank you friends for your tremendous support as together we touch the lives of people in need with the great love of our Lord Jesus!
